I have another question for you.... seeing as the piping you fabricated places the turbo farther back than most turbo kits, exhaust choices seem to be more limited. Will this kit only work with exhausts (midpipe + axleback) that are similar to the stock one? Or is it possible to hook up a true-dual exhaust, such as the motordyne shockwave?

This kit will work with the OEM exhaust, and any other exhaust that would bolt up to the OEM Y-pipe. The donor car has an aftermarket exhaust, but I can't remember which. I will make a jig for the down pipe so that it can be duplicated for those with the same (as donor car) brand exhaust.

I have also left the down pipe flanges off (not welded) so that customers can go to a local exhaust shop and get the Y-pipe extended to mate up with whatever dual exhaust they have.

Top righ corner you can see how I left the Y-pipe section long, and no flanges:

Customer went to an exhaust shop, they cut the two pipes down to proper length, and weld the two 2-bolt flanges on. Very simple and inexpensive:

We still have a lot of snow on the ground here so the donor car won't be here till the end of April. That is when the build will start.

Sasha,

Regarding your full kit, how do you feel about the walbro 255? I currently have that installed and was wondering If I needed to have the 340lp included in your kit?

a 255 will support around 550whp on pump gas. if you plan on making more power than that, jump right to the walbro 455.

For stock block power it will be fine (up to 500whp on a DJ).

BTW the donor car owner has put down a deposit for the kit/install, so this is all a go .

Is it the end of April yet?

Looking forward to see how this works out, and I may be interested in purchasing a kit.

I just wanted to throw in here that I'm also very interested. I was initially looking at the GTM SC kit for our car, but this looks like a much more effective path while still being bolt on as I was looking for. Waiting to see a finished product though.

Last I checked, two or three weeks ago, Sasha is taking a break from all of this. He has been focusing on the 370z and the rev 2 of the kit for them. Can't blame him, our limited run of HRs is too few to warranty additional R&D.

From what I gathered, the exhaust side is going to be identical but the front IC may be slightly different. I don't have any hard evidence to back up this claim, just based on what i've read and what i've been told.

I couldn't wait anymore and went with VSR (formally SnR) in Florida. Schedule to be installed next week or so.

The donor car was scheduled to come in some time in May...customer had sent deposit, I ordered everything needed for the install and we were good to go.

Unfortunately his dog had to be taken in for emergency back surgery, so he asked for his deposit back. So I sent him a full refund, and he was able to take care of his dog.

There was talk about doing the build next year, but that is a long way out. Now I am back to searching for a local donor car.

Damn hopefully his dog is okay. They are a part of the family and completely understandable that he did that. He did the right thing.

Too bad you are so far from me or else I would volunteer to be the donor car.
