Default Custom 3" Intakes for Injen CAI Setup

Hey everyone,

I decided to go ahead and order a PCV delete kit (eliminates crankcase ventilation) from Jake Justice/EPS Tuning and a 3" custom intake setup from Moncef Faik/The Administration / AdminTuning on the Facebook HR group. These custom intakes essentially make the entire intake setup 3" all the way down to the filters. Seems like the Facebook groups see WAY MORE traffic than the forums nowadays which kinda sucks.. but anyways, I'll be installing these in a few weeks & getting a re-tune.

I made 281rwhp/242tq with my current mods + Uprev Tune :
- Motordyne ART Pipes
- Motordyne XYZ + HFC
- Agency Power Single
- Injen CAIs

I'm hoping for 290+ with the new intakes I bought.

I decided to make this thread to document the process along with everything that happens. I plan on doing a baseline pull on THE DAY OF before doing anything, and then another with the Intakes on. Hoping these make a huge difference for the HR community. Bmurray would be proud, lol

3/27/16 --> UPDATE EVERYBODY!!!!!

I was FINALLY able to get my car strapped down to test the AdminTuning 3" MAF intake kit. Details below. Same tuner & same dyno for before and after results.

-Elevation 5800'
-Baseline: See Post Above (281rwhp/242tq)
-Final Setup:

I made 290rwhp/248tq with my current mods + AdminTuning 3"Intakes + Uprev Re-Tune :
- Motordyne ART Pipes
- Motordyne XYZ + HFC
- Agency Power Single
- AdminTuning 3" MAF Tubes

Net gain ~9whp from 5500 rpm to 6800 rpm! Remember this is 9whp on top of one of the best intake systems on the market for the HR Z.

Runs were performed on a DynoJet with SAE corrections.

Any color recommendations on powder-coating the intake tubes?

Was thinking wrinkle black or the color of my Volk wheels

I was an early customer so it was $250! I really like the wrinkle black, but I'm getting that Cusco strut bar so I'm not sure. I was even thinking about wrapping it in that DEI titanium wrap stuff.

Do you think the wrinkle black will clash too much with this strut bar?

The Injen setup is 2.75" at the throttle bodies, 2.5" at the MAF sensor, and back to 2.75" before that 90 degree coupler. The new intakes make the system a complete 3" all the way to the filters.

Thanks I can't wait! I placed the order for the strut bar today so it should arrive soon. I'll take them to the powder-coating place in the meantime

Here's a dyno sheet from someone who just had this done.

His mod list on stock internals :

- Injen Intake System with Moncef's Custom 3" MAF Tubes
- Z1 intake manifold
- PPE long tube headers
- Custom Exhaust
- Tune

Well I'm going head first into this project.

My stock injectors are running at 95% duty cycle (with 12.5 AFR held tightly at WOT and getting about 33-34 degrees ignition timing) right now with the injen intake, Z1 ported upper plenum, self ported lower intake manifold, Z1 HFC, and stillen exhaust.

I ordered the 3" pipes as well as 600cc Bosch injectors from Admin Tuning.

They have already sent me an Uprev ROM with all the injector related variables to get started (k multiplier will need to be fine tuned).

The plan is to install the injectors and get the car running like before with street tuning, then install the 3" tubes (along with PCV delete setup thru facebook Jake Justice) & repeat, then finally get to HPlogic on the other coast of FL. Get a dyno pull with the injen tubes, then swap over to 3" tubes, reflash with the 3" street tune and dyno tune.
