Default Oil cooler for a track car

What size do you guys recommend and is it necessary to install a thermostat?

Thermostatic sandwich plate is probably a good idea for a street car north of the Mason Dixon. Pure track car maybe not. I went with a 21 row oil cooler. What kind of setup are you running? F/I or NA? How much power?

NA up to 350hp, no more for now. 2008 HR. Do you mean that I don't need a thermostat at all?

No more than 350hp means less than that, doesn't it? It's just a plan anyway.
I've seen people installing 30-34 row radiators and I'm wondering why so big. Plus, not sure how this works but why can the original thermostat not work with this set-up?

No idea what local temps are there, my climate is pretty warm and hardly gets below 0c. I do t run one , no need for where I live

No offense but it sounds like you have zero knowledge on the subject. A thermostat for your cooling system and a thermostatic sandwich plate for an oil cooler are in different solar systems. People run monster oil coolers for a number of reasons. Hot climates, high strung race cars, show piece/bling, the list goes on. I suggest you research oil cooling systems to at least know what you are talking about. I dont know much about poland, but i'm pretty sure you guys get snow regularly and have "real" winters. I suggest a T-stat sandwich plate.

I know it's two different systems for oil and water but I'm no mechanic. What I meant was this: with oil cooler added but with no thermostat, would the water thermostat not be able to control the water cooling system enough so the oil temperature does not drop too much?

There are too many variables involved to answer that question. Maybe what you should do is install an oil temp gauge and see what temps you;re getting under the conditions you have. My Z doesn't have an oil temp gauge, but my old Alfa's and BMW's do, and you might be surprised how long it takes to get oil up to its proper temp, even when the weather is warm. Those cars also have a much greater oil capacity than the Z, and finned alloy pans to throw off a lot of heat, so I can't make direct comparisons to the Z's meager 5 quarts of oil and tiny stamped steel pan. If you install a gauge, you'll know what you're dealing with.

Ok, I've decided to get a 25 row radiator and a thermostatic sandwich plate. I'm confsed with those connection types now: AN8/10, M18/20, 1/2, 3/4, male/female on the radiator... arghh. Help please!

Does it matter if the outlets are on top or at the bottom of the cooler?
Folks from my local forum are saying that having them at the bottom like in the video below is wrong and petentially bad for the engine!
