Default Crankshaft position sensor

Alright guys the other day I was driving home and the car just died. It will not restart, I can here the fuel pump priming and I had a half tank. So after a bunch of research and a code reader I replaced the crankshaft position sensor for code P0335 and nothing changed just rolls over but doesn't attempt to really FIRE. After a mistake of replacing the old one back in I forgot to plug the sensor back in after looking to make sure the wires were intact wich they seem to be and walla she started after 10 seconds of cranking. But I cannot get the car to start with the sensors plugged in. Any thoughts?
