Very high ¿tapping? engine noise only at 1600 rpm
Hi,
My 350zHR, 2007, European, MT, 220k kilometers makes a very high noise only when hot and the revs are between 1600 and 1800 rpm. In this video you can hear the noise clearly
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pYDcikuyuU
also, with ELM+torque I get this OBD errors:
P0345: Camshaft position sensor "A" circut (bank2)
P0300: Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected
The noise is very high but only appears if you keep the revs gently in a narrow interval. Appears only when engine is hot (normal use). Non-depends of cluch position, gear selected, car stopped or moving. Anyway, in movement is very difficult to hear the noise, because aero and tires noise (and hood closed)
Is very difficult to determine the part of the motor that are making the noise, because is high and transmitted by the bock. Apparently is higher and starts in the front part of camshaft, driver side.
We remove the poly-V (accessories) belt to confirm the noise is not from any pulley bearing.
The problem looks like very similar to this post
so I will check the oil pressure, but the OBC error codes are different, mine are about camshaft position sensor and misfires, maybe a wrong reading from this sensor at this rpm interval makes the ecu set an incorrect spark timing that produces misfires (that is the noise I hear)
