LOL I think its cus they have alot more cars (bigger market) and their prices are alot more competetive than ours but Its a hassle bringing down a car from there specially if you are getting a loan or leasing. With duty, tax, custome, currency, etc it works out the same imo.
That's right! Bad timing for me as I'm about to bring over the proceeds from my home sale in California

I've researched, done price comparisons and talked to people who have imported... and even with all fees, taxes, duties... on average a Zed costs about $5k - $6K less than a comparable Zee -- based on an exchange rate of about 1.16 : 1
Just to add what else I found in my search...
A number of dealers in BC (Morrey Nissan for one) is going down to the US and buying Z's at auto auctions and then selling them here for a hefty profit.
In my search for a local car, I came across 4 US models.
So I figured if the dealers can do it so can I... and save their mark-up.

Had a look at the 2004 Liquid Aluminum one. He doesn't seem to want to budge too much on the price so I decided to look south .
Have expressed interest to a seller in the US -- waiting to hear back.

I think automotive head office's have forgot about the dollar. Look at the C6, mid 40's in the US and high 60's in Canada. That is crazy! I could have bought a C6 for the price of my ZR.
Recently, Chevy has offered $6000 cash back on the C6 to help fight this.

In the US there are 5 models to choose from... Base, Enthusiast, Track, Performance & (Grand) Touring.
In Canada only 3 models... Track, Performance & Touring = the three higher priced models.
I chose the Enthusiast for the LSD option and I wasn't totally sold on the leather interior... and I could always add later. I also didn't want the intrusive VDC sytem. The stereo can always be upgraded to something better than what Nissan offers.
Because I chose the Enthusiast model I was able to find one well priced and saved more than $8K in the process.

Yes.. you are correct, there is now only one primary model being offered for 2006... Performance by itself or with the Grand Touring option package.
The US still offers the 5 different trim levels.
