Unhappy knocking noise=broken/loose front control arm thingie?

Little confused here....

took my G to service today to fix a weird knocking noise in the front that would appear at low speeds... dealership said that my nismo front sway bar was too "beefy" for the front endlink, and that it would cost $450 to fix.

He suggested that Stillen makes an aftermarket one, but I can't seem to find the part online anywhere- I see rear adjustable toe arms, rear adjustable camber arms, but nothing for the front- anyone have any ideas?

thanks in advance.

Tell the dealership to retighten your upper a-arms bolts to spec. They come loose.

found out some more info... turns out the joints in the stabilizer link bars are worn out....

does anyone know of any aftermarket ones? I don't want to get new OEM ones since I'll end up having to replace them again in another 10k miles...

Lois,

"joints in the stabilizer link bars are worn out..."

You mean the endlinks? These are the pieces that attach the sway bar to the suspension. Is this what you mean?

I'm interested because my Stillen rear bar makes some noise at low speeds, kinda like a low pitched knock. It occurs mostly when rolling over speedbumps or turning at slow speeds.

My Hotchkis bars have that low speed knock sound, also. Haven't jacked up the car to see what the deal is yet.

On that note, if something like that is actually broken in your car, shouldn't it be covered by warranty? The Nismo swaybars are S-tune, and S-tune parts are supposed to by covered by the factory warranty. Only the R-tune stuff isn't covered.

yeah I asked the 350evo guys and they're still in the process of developing endlinks.... I haven't had any luck finding endlinks anywhere else.

I might just end up buying some OEM ones for now and then replace them later again when they wear out... the noise is buggin me like crazy, plus it's kinda embarassing driving in a parking lot with a car sounding like that.

Hey, loismustdie, I'm trying to figure out your screen name, and the only thing I can come up with is Family Guy.
