Does any one change BBK by youself? Is it hard? would you mind to tell me how to do it?

 

It's relatively easy. Stoptech includes good instructions. Make sure you have the correct size flair nut wrenches & accurate torque wrenches. I'd done many brake jobs before, so it wasn't a problem for me.

BUT.......brakes are a lifesaver, so if you're not totally comfortable, have someone with experience do it for you.


BTW......where did you get the euro rear fog light? And how does it get wired in?

 

Thanx, the only thing i wasn't sure how to do is brake line,..i heard that it is the most important part of whole installation.

i ask someone who live at Japan get it for me and send it to me,..it comes with installation instructions,.it's pretty easy,..just attach a ground and a power line on the back-up light wire,..

The hardest and most dangerous parts are cutting the backing plate and bleeding the brake system. I would recommend a cut off wheel for the backing plate and a vaccum pump for the bleeding of the brake system so you can do it by yourself. I did mine over 2 days because I had some trouble getting off some of the larger bolts that hold the calipers on.

 

hido7, thanks for the link. I'm more than stupid when it comes to reading Japanese though. But it looks like they include all the wires & a switch. Do you remember the cost?

You should have gotten their SS lines. They aren't a problem to install, just make sure you don't cross-thread them. AND, route the front line BEHIND the front uprights!

It's a pretty fun job actually. As someone said, the tough part is cutting the back plates. I bought some metal snips at Home Depot for $10, and that made the job much easier. With those, I could cut the rear back plates off in about 3 minutes.

Changing the brake lines is not bad either. The tough part there is to loosen the OEM brake line nut.

I use a wrench and mallet to loosen the calipers bolts. Otherwise, I could not get enough leverage to do it.

Here's a pic of my rear brake project from last week. It's OEM brembo caliper, Stoptech SS line, Stoptech 2 piece rotor.

 

Yeah I probably should have used tin snips too, but I had a new air compressor and liked the idea of a cutting wheel, haha.
