Default Rims on performance model

What size rims come on a 2003 Performance Model? I am looking to buy a set of aftermarket rims using the tires that came on the car. I am hearing conflicting stories and need an expert answer. Can some one let me know something? Also, will the new rims that mess up my tire pressure sensors, traction control, etc...?

18" x 8"

BTW, wheel and tire size, like a lot of other useful info is in your owners manual...

Thanks for the info. Will the new rim mess up any of my sensors? (Tire pressure, traction control, etc...)

Well you need to make sure the TPS (tire pressure sensor) can be mounted inside the wheel you pick and if you are using the stock tires then the traction control will work just fine.

Just as they said . . . to give you a brief explanation:

1) Your TPS is banded to your stock wheel, so whoever swaps the tires, will have to swap the bands . . . its not a fun task.

2) VDC (performance, touring, & track models . . . TCS on the base and enthusiast) relies on the tires revolutions. If you're using the OEM tires, then nothing is materially altered. If you opt for different size tires, then you just want to make sure the overall diameter stays very close to the stock.

If in doubt, throw out a few ideas and we'll clarify it for ya

The TPS is not banded to the stock wheel. It is part of the valve. Many OEM rims will not handle the TPS, that is why some people band them inside. I got Kazara rims and the TPS mounted fine. No big deal to put them in.

Oops, just reread my post and gringott is correct. When changing from factory sized rims to aftermarket ones not true to spec, the TPS system may not measure correctly, but if you know a good baseline (i.e. 35psi is actually 30psi on this aftermarket rim), then you can still use them for relatively comparing. Personally, I wish I had TPS on my 19s.
