one other thought, I had it earlier actually, while i was stripping a stock 18 for powdercoating. Have a shop with a cnc machine (aam?) machine a metal cap for you and powdercoat it the same finish.

Both your ideas have crossed my mine. I'm going to try the duplicolor. I'm also going to have a guy at work in the tool and die shop make metal center caps for them. Already thought about the design and how it will attach with a threaded stud on the back. Even have an electronic engraver to put the Z in the center if I like the look.

Gator: Those look incredible. If I wasn't in the process of getting my new wheels right now (I'm going with the Racing Hart CPF Tunes) I'd be doing this with my Track Rays.
If anyone wants to buy my Rays to have a set for powder coating, I will be selling them in about a month. I will be including the tires as well.

Those look great!! I have my Ray's powdercoated and the lip polished for my track wheels. The polished lip is a good idea because the powdercoating will chip with excessive removal/ installation of track tires. The only thing I don't like is the width. I would love to get another set of Ray's rears to run all four corners 8.5 wide

Where did you have your work done? I want to do the same to my Ray's but am not having much luck finding a "good" place to do the work.
Did the same place that did the pc also do the polishing?

I had it done by two shops here in Sacramento. It was a long process, but worth it. It is worthwhile to have a good shop to the work. I called tons of places and spoke wtih them all. The company I chose gave me a tour and showed me some of their work first. I think I would go with a darker color if I were to do it again. Maybe even black.

Thanks Steve! May I trouble you to PM me the places you used? I'm in Fairfield& it looks like I need to go to Sac or somewhere in the Bay area for the work. I'll probably go with what gator did. I don't think darker will look good on the brickyard plus I like the fact they match the door handles (which I'm going to try & have powder coated too).

keep in mind that if they sell you on clearcoating (which does help with UV fading), it will seem alittle darker in anything less than direct sunlight. I guess its like people say about re-clearing Volks, it just doesnt come out as clear. Same with PCing, my silver was perfect until they cleared it. I actually like my wheels in direct sunlight, anything else is alittle gray.

tware.....exactly why I did not clear. As long as you wash the brake dust off your wheels even every couple of weeks, you'll be fine. I paid about 350 for everything. The Ray's take a while to bead blast becuase the finish under the paint is very rough. You wouldn't beliefe how rough the finish.....it's actually cool looking, but the powdercoating adheres very well to this surface and smooths out nicely. I had two separate companies do the work, but they work well together and coordinated between each other becuase there are multiple phases when powdercoating and polishing and you have to follow the sequence to make things turn out nice as you see in the pictures.
As far as colors go.....literally thousands to choose from, so no problem there.
