Question 20" Wheels An Option For 2005?

I took my car in for scheduled maintenance this past Saturday and saw 2 05 Z's with 20" wheels. 1 Had these beautiful Volks, the other some brand of chrome wheels both were 20"! The dealer told me these where options for 2005. Wish I had my digital camera with me.

Has anyone else seen these?

I appologize if this is a repost.

Did it have aftermarket springs as well? I hope it does since it'll look pretty high with 20's without a set of lower springs. I wouldn't be suprised to see aftermarket rims sold on Z's at the dealership since I've actually seen some when I bought mine which was in 2003. They had 18" ADRs on a PPW Z at Stevens Creek Nissan. Guess they're trying to spice it up a bit to catch the attention of those Mod Heads out there (like me ). Bet it will cost a pretty penny though if you buy it from them .

I don't know about the springs/suspension. The cars looked pretty normal in height though. And you're right, considering they're charging around $1,500.00 per wheel for the Track Ray's I can only imagine what they're asking for the 20's. The polished ones looked so good. They can keep the chrome one though.

Did you see the sticker on the side of the car that said:

Dealer Installed Options:

20" Rims $5000

That is why they did it. So they can charge more than it cost for the wheels and rip someone off.

Yea, thats typical for most dealers. I didn't look at the 1 with the chromes and unfortunately the 1 with the Volks on it was being driven as a demo and had no stickers on it.

I'm in the aftermarket car and truck accessories biz... getting dealership biz is kind of hard since they are already getting accessories from the same places I am. They get their wheels from the same places I do. However, they charge about 60% more than we do at our shop and add it to your loan. More and more as the aftermarket accessory biz gets bigger... the dealers will offer more.

I absolutely agree with you on the chrome, which is why I didn't pay much attention to them, but I must admit those 20" Volks looked very, very nice. They were on a PPW.

Nothing wrong with 20's. Just depends on which ones you get. I have Polished 20" iForged Evolutions & I think they look perfect on my car. Some people thought they were actually 19's. Now when I track my car, obviously I'm going to slap on my 18's .
