Default I have 19" Axis Hiro's and have question...

This is the set up I have:

19" Axis Hiro front = 9.5", rear 10.5".

So far, I've tried Falken tires fr - 245/35/19, rr - 275/30/19. This set up has a big gap between rim and tire on front and rear (like 1/2" gap).

I asked Wheels Discount to sned me a different brand. So, now I tried the Goodyear GSd fr - 245/35/19, rr - 275/35/19. But, this big gap is still between the rim and tires!

Axis suggests using this sized tires, but I don't like this big gap. I would like to know if anyone has the 9.5", and 10.5" Axis Hiro's what sized tires did you get, and if you have a big gap between rim and tire.

I've heard from one person, and they have the same sized rims, but used Nitto's 245/35/19, and 275/30/19 and he has no gap. I would like to have more opinion. I'm running out of patience and money.

Someone please help.

Thanks

Do you have a picture? Those tire sizes seem to be right and the popular choice for those widths.

I think you should try 255/35 in the front and 285/30 in rear

If there's a gap, try getting a wider tire.
One guy on the boards or another board has this setup for the Axis Hiro
19x9.5's on the front with 255/35/19's and 19x10.5's on the rear with 285/35/19's Axis Hiro

or you can go with
255/30/19's for front 19x9.5's
and
285/30/19's for rear 19x10.5's

If you have to roll the fenders, it is very easy to do yourself. I used a cutting disk in my die grinder. I cut the inside fender lip once every 3/4" or so and bent the remaining "tabs" up. It took about 10 minutes per side. I did not have to remove the tires, but it would make it a little easier. Good luck.

The tire sizes you are quoting work better on the smaller Hiro package, 8.5 front, 9.5 rear...that's what I have, and I use the 245/275 setup! You need to go with 255 front and 285 or 295 rears.

I guess the one poster on this board might be mistaken when he told me he had the 9.5/10.5" hiro's and used nitto's 245/35, 275/30 and they fit.

Thanks

No mine fit perfect, there is no lip like he has... At all..... I am not mistaken on what I have... I have the Nitto NT555 245/35 front and 275/30 rears on 9.5" and 10.5" rims.... I do not have this problem... Perhaps the tire place does not know how to seat the tires properly, or perhaps that are made for a smaller rim, either way, mine do not do that.

I feel for you man. That really sucks. Don't people put 275 tires on 9.5" width rims? and 245 for 8.5" width rims?

I'm not sure whay Axis states that the tires sizes should be (for 9.5"/10.5" rims) front = 245/35/19, and rear = 275/30-35/19. This doesn't make sense. I'm wondering if most all tires they install w/ this size has that big gap between the rim and tires.
So far, goodyear gsd, and falkens do this.
Not many manufacturers for both largers sizes of 255/35, and 285/35.

Thanks all!

In that last pic, the side of the tire said to "mount on 19.5 inch wheels"??? Kind of funky.

It actually says "Do not mount on a 19.5" rim". Kinda hard to see.

Because its a 19" rim and not a 19.5".

The tire says "Do Not Mount on a 19.5" Rim".

I finally found some 245/35/19, and 275/30/19 Nitto's to mount, and they look great. Not sure why different tire brands w/ the same sized tires are different. Strange. But, the nitto's work fine!

What did you expect when you bought 9.5" and 10.5" wide wheels? If I was you I would move the 9.5" wheel to the back and switch to a 8.5" in the front and then run the standard 245/275 tire setup and don't worry about rubbing and the tires will sit more flush.
