20'' Wheel & Tire Discussion Thread
i think 20s r hott on the Z, just sucks mine r soo heavy, i think thats the only cons for the 20s....but i say fk it, looks hotz...and daamm gen..10F and 12R?? thats SICK as fk...
there is no such thing as "BRAKE FAILURE" when it comes to wheels and tire sizes. the only thing is your pads will ware out a lot faster cause it has to stop more weight. if thats what he meant then its true. i've been through all kinds off wheels ranging from 18's to 20's. and all tires sizes and i havent had any issues with brakes. the only way it'll ware out is it you drive fast and brake suddenly often. ive ran 305/30 on both 20's and 19's with no issues. 255&285 are just the width of the tires. and youre running a low profile too so its not much weight. you should check out the "AGGRESSIVE WHEELS & FAT TIRES" thread theres a lot of people running beefy tires there. hope that helps!
I am being told by a local shop that going about 3% of normal/stock parameters could cause brake failure to a certain point. That being said, would mean that going from 255/30/20 front and from 285/30/20 rear would cause this? Then it means getting bigger brakes a nessecity? That can also be a rule for whichever diameter i suppose. Could somebody explain to me please? I've done my searching and on tire calculators but no definite answer there. If i missed it, my apologies. Thanks.

no it will not.
are you sure your car HAS vdc?
My 05 enthus only has TCS.. not an issue.
run 20s, theres no real discernable difference.. unless you went back to like an 18" RPF1.. THAT you will certainly notice.

Pictures up this spring/summer.
Another set of 20s
Super-lightweight RAYS GT-R Wheels
Front: 20"X9.5" with a +45 offset (20mm H&R TRAK+® Wheel Spacers in the front)
Rear: 20"X10.5" with a +25 offset
The front wheels weigh about 26lbs a wheel
the rear wheels weight about 27lbs a wheel
Also I have a set of Tein H. Tech springs installed so I am slightly lowered (about 1")

^ thank you, and agree. Monday my sl2 front bumper will be on, lip is painted the same color as these wheels, and shortly after I'm getting chargespeed bottomline sides and a ts rear diffuser.
Had To do it over I would have stuck with the 19" but seller talked me into the 20's , He showed me pictures of his Z with 20" and said if i didn't like them he would exchange the whole bundle with 19" ers ..Whatever ......
i think a slightly wider tire in the rear would make this set-up look on point sir.
I'm currently shopping for 245/35/20 for the front and 275/30(or 35)/20 for the rear.
These tires are just the ones that were on them when I bought them
