Question MB motoring/motorsports wheels...A few questions

Does anyone have these, Discount Tire Direct sells them exclusively. How's the quality, the weight? I was thinking of the 17x9 Competition or Weapon in Gunmetal. Another question is what offset should I get +27 or +17? Sorry, I don't know much about offsets, can someone explain for me also.
Thanks for any help.

peace

If you want to hold off on ordering a few days, I can take a few pics of the "shop" wheels look like on my SB Z.

Besides, I didnt think they had any more 17x9 +17 lleft in stock?!!

If you can get a hold of these wheels, (in 17") I think it would be best to keep the staggard fitment so the rear whels do not look too sunken in when compared to the fronts.

"shop"? I haven't seen those yet, got a link to a picture of 'em? Also, I just realized that after I posted the thread, looks like the Competition isin't an option any more

I was referring to the shop I work for: Enjuku Racing. We run those wheels on our pro drift cars.

Oh ok. Those look nice btw. I assume they're 18's, right? Offsets/widths?

They are offered in 17 and 18. That car is running the 17x9 +17 all around. I will see if I can "test fit" them on my Z tomorrow after work. Will try my best and get pics!

they are available everywhere as A-Tech Weapons. The MB has "Atech" on the wheel. Although DTD was selling them at a much better price. They seem pretty strong.

18x8+30

I got bronze and had them powdercoated to silver.

Probably selling them soon, I want the new GramLight T57-RC when it comes out.

what did you want to know? Importhookup had them (as a-techs) as well as at least 3 or 4 other sites, but for $200 more than DTD tho. They are reasonably light and people are autoX-ing with them. Mine came with metal valve stems. The original e-coat finish was much better than the powercoat I had done

The main thing I wanted to know was what would be the difference in look between the +17 and +27 offsets. Thanks!

my understanding of the wheels and pics I have seen is that the spokes do not change with offset, the depth of the center changes. I've seen pics where the center is pretty shallow.

Here are the pics I have of the MB Motoring wheels in 17x9 +17 all around. They are not staying on my car since they are spare wheels for our drift cars.

One last question. If I get the 17 x 9 weapons, wouldn't it give me better turn-in if I get the wheels in +27 for the fronts and +17 for the rears? Does that make sense, or do I not know what the hell I'm talking about, lol?

I don't think the turn in difference would be noticible at all.

What if I have 255 width tires in the front and 275's in the back?

255 width will help with more turn in that stock (dependant on type of tires). With an overall 255/275 setup, the car will bee more prone to understeer in extreme circumstances since in most cases the rear will be reluctant to come out.

But if you are not aggressive and turn in slow and floor the car after the apex, that rear will step out causeing oversteer.

There are too many variabes when it comes to making a car handle perfect. Most are suspension, tires, and driver.

Looks great. I'm thinking of doing the 17x9 +17 all around with 255/40 for a dedicated set of track wheels. Question is do you see enough clearance for a Stoptech front BBK? I'm going to call around as well, but I'm wondering if you guys at Enjuku know if it will clear. Great cars btw, both of them look great!
