(TOYO PROXES T1-S tires) What are your impression on how this tires performs?
I'm been doing some research on this tire and it's coming on the new set of rims I just purchase yesterday. I really don't know much about these tires but I've heard the name before. I read up on the Specs a little bit and see it's a Y rate tire capable of 186mph. How does this tire handle at high speeds and cornering? In wet weather does this tire grip as good as it says it can and really resistance against aquaplaning? I'm intrigue as to what kind of mileage I could expect to get on them before having to replace them? TIA for all yalls opinions!

They are quiet, the sidewall is soft, they have good cornering grip, I never hydroplaned in all of SoCals horrid rains this year at 80+mph everyday on the freeways.
They look awesome on the car
I got 16k out of em, which is pretty good .. I would have gotten more had I not had uneven tire wear
I switched to Goodyear GS-D3. They have a just as quiet ride, better straight line grip, but are LOUD at the limits (they squeal like a stuck pig) ... but the limits are higher than the Toyos. (I have put ~700 miles on these, so I think this is a fair assessment)
These are overall a better tire to me ... just louder when pushing it. eg. I was racing the other day and spun the tires ... well, mister border patrol wasn't too happy with me, lucky he wasn't a cop.
The Toyos "looked" wider b/c of the v-tread all the way to the edges
PS - I ran 255/275 Toyos, now I run the same sizes for the GS-D3s

That's cool....I'm going to have the same setup but my front tire is going to be a 245. So when you mention something about tire wear. Was it the rear tires that had the most wear or was it something else? If so, how did your front tires look if you only had to replace the rear and could they have giving you another 16k or close to it?

I may have gotten another 5k - 7k miles if I had properly cross rotated.
If you can fit the 255, get it .. it is worth it, since its better for the stagger and it looks better on the wheels. It also adds a tad bit more grip to the front
The rears had about 3k more wear on them (thats a guess) than the fronts did - looks wise.

Did you do any street racing, drag racing or any burn outs on those tires? I can't wait to get my rims here probably on monday or tuesday and Imma post some pics of my rims/toyo tires.

Honestly, Yes ... I had done many-a-burnouts and a lot of sideways driving down here on the border ... but hey it was fun
Actually the guys that saw the rear when they were off couldn't believe how I destroyed the rears ... a lil bit of e-braking led to some bald spots

overall I think they're a good tire for the $$$ but I wouldn't go with them again....I didn't like the ride on them...sidewalls are too soft you can feel the flex in them.
They did grip the road really good though

Same here with 255/35/19 9.5" and 275/35/19 10.5" on the T1S. I concur with everything Jim said, stressing how quiet these were -- but not necessarily in a good way. They tend to corner well but break away without much warning. The rears didn't last too long, but the wear was fairly even and predictable (middle & inner tread was bald). The fronts still have a lot of tread and I just flipped them L & R for a bit more life. They're super light (very important to me) and a good tire for the value. Going with 295/30/19 in the rear w/ Continental SC2 -- for a better look and better overall treadwear. The 275 looks too stretched on the 10.5"
BTW, I'm with Jim -- go with 255 on the front. You won't regret it.
I have Kumho MX 245/40/18 (x4) on my oem track wheels and they corner just as well, but seem more nimble and balanced on the car.

The T1-S is a great, high grip tire but is horrible for drifting. There is alot of sidewall flex and I noticed more understeer. Whe the rear breaks loose during a dynamic drift it tends to grip instantly then snap back, very jerky and not at all progressive or linear. As for top speed yes it does seem more stable and its great in the wet as well. However, I think I will be going back to Falken.

Hmm.. New T1R.. I wonder how much they've been improved over T1S..
I was gonna get BF Goodrich KDW2 for my next set, but maybe I should give T1R a try.. with 255/35/19 front and 285/35/19 rear.
Hope they fix the soft sidewall issues tho.

I love my TIS tires. AWESOME in the rain. I hydroplaned quite a few times on the stock tires, and never have on the T1S. The sidewall is soft, but the performance is better than the stock tires. I am running 245 / 275

I ran some shaved 265/35R18 T1-S tires on 18x9" wheels tires (all four corners) for several lapping days at Firebird Raceway. They stuck very well once warmed up, gave great feedback and let go progressively at the limit. I would by them again if the price is right.
I didn't have the sidewall flex described above, but maybe that's because I didn't have much of a sidewall with the 35 aspect ratio.
