Default Tire Sizes people r using on Track wheels?

Hey, like the title says: what sizes are you guys running on the stock Track wheels? I'd like them as wide as I can. I have used 245/40 up front on a different rim but would like to hear some sizes mounted on stock wheels thanx in advance.

I run a 245/40 in front on the 8" wide and plan on running a 265/40 DR in the rear, I am getting my LE's next week so the track wheels will be a extra set. I wouldnt go wider than 265 on that 8.5" or it may pudge to much which I dont like the look of.

I've been using my OEM Track wheels was my race set, and 275 RA1s fit on the rear with no bulging or problems. Then again, I also think the 275 RA1 is close to a 265 since my 275 T1S on my Nismo wheels seem to be a bit wider (but I haven't measure the contact patch).

When running the 235-40/18 and 255-40/18 tires on the track wheels, have you noticed the your speedometer is off compared to when stock tire sizes? I just purchased a set of track wheels for my Z and when the tires that came with them wear out, I was thinking of switching to this set up. Thanks.

I have 245/40R18 PS2s up front and 265/40R18 in the back.

Alberto- I had the BFG DRs on my rims for a good while, like at least 1-2,000 miles . As nice as they were, I regretted not just getting a set of Mickey Thompsons. Now, I may be in a rarer situation than you. With all the weight out of the back of my car, the Tein's higher spring rate, and the Tilton, my Z and traction don't really belong in the same sentence.

UsafaRice, How well do the 265s fit on the 18x8.5? Is there much buldging and was it a pain for the tire shop to get them on the rim? I want this tire, but tirerack tells me that it would be unsafe and could unseat itself on the track. Any input would be appreciated.

The tire shop HATED the Drag Radials. They didn't complain about the PS2s. The drag radials bulged a lot. I think my Car Domain page has some pictures of them ( http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/783981 ). I don't have any pictures of the PS2s, but they look perfectly normal.

The one complaint about the DRs was brought on by myself. I took a banked curve at about 120 and it felt like the sidewall on one of them collapsed. That was pure stupidity on my part and the DRs are not speed rated or recommended to be run over 100 mph for any length of time.

The PS2s simply rule.

Great site, thanks Major, I appreciate the assist!
I think that set up you're running is what I'll be going to when it's time to replace the OEM rubber.

The 265/40 is actually closer to the stock specs then the 255/40, so your speedometer will be more accurate.
