Default So Nissan is giving me 2 front tires....

...but I need 2 rear ones too but thats not covered by the new extended warrenty. Would it be a good idea to get the same tires as the ones in the front? I was thinking I could get a pair of good all-season for the rear. Would that affect the way my car drives in any way?

No tire expert here but I'm sure the different tread pattern, compound would have a detrimental effect to the handeling. I could be wrong.

I've heard you never want to run two sets of different tires as it will make handling very squirrely.

It will all depend on what tire you pick but going from a sticky Potenza RE040 to an all season tire will mean less grip in the back but more tread life. It is up to you what you decide. If you don't drive your car hard or hit the track, then I would go with the all season and tread life.

I have had different tires front to back for 6+ months and no detrimental effect... as long as you buy high quality tires for both sides you should be O.K.

I can see where it would get choppy if you put cheap-o rears on and sticky as hell fronts or something...

Never heard of or used them. I would go with Kumho if you want an inexpensive tire that performs.
