Here are some pics of my Factory 18" chrome wheel that has never been curbed and has no damage to it what-so-ever. I brought it to the dealer and they are saying it is from driving hard and possibly jumping the car?.... Should factory wheels be cracking like this? Has anyone eles had this problem.... please help!! Thanks

I've never heard of an OEM cracking but it is a real possibility. Is the dealer right in their assumptions? is that the front or rear wheel?
Under normal driving conditions I believe it is extremely unlikely for something like this to happen unless the wheel already had a manufacturing flaw.
Wheel is the front passenger wheel. The dealer said that if they send it to nissan under warrenty that they are going to send it back becasue there are to many factors involved in how the car has been driven in the past.
if there are no dents in the edge of the rim I don't see how they think YOU did it?
If the rim shows no other damage be persistent. Have them call Nissan & send a corporate rep to look at it.
I've cracked 2 or 3 stock 18" rims. The cracks were on the outer edges of the rims. I think they occured with my rims because they were wrapped in really low profile snow tires.
Yep. I have no doubt that this is something that he caused to happen and is not a manufacturers defect. Most likely it is from hitting a pot hole at high speeds. He probably knows this but doesn't want to admit it.

Do you really think an impact enough to crack all the spokes in the same place would not have been enough to deflect the tire enough to damage the outer part of the rim? I find that hard to believe. I am wondering of the chrome process has something to do with it, galvanic stress or corrosion and possible the differing expansion rates of chrome and aluminum. Wonder of the wheels were dipped to be chromed and how hot was the tank. I am thinking some kind of combination of the chrome and work hardening.

Nope - If he hit a pot hole, he would have dented the rim on the edge. That crack looks a manufacturing defect to me.
Damn I didn't notice in the 1st picture, all the spokes are cracked.
"Sooo much torque, the hub of the wheel seperated from the spokes. Haven't drove it since"
