Those with Rays Duralumin Lugs... DONT LOSE THAT LOCK!
So I guess the body shop lost my adapter for the locking lug on the Rays Duralumin Long Lug Nuts I have...
Today I decided to raise up my suspension so when I get my new exhaust I wont be scraping $1800 on speedbumps etc...
So, we looked everywhere couldnt find the socket...
For those who dont know the one locking lug is 7 sided... I have pleanty of other sets around but their sockets are per set and do not work on every set... (unless you shave out the inside line...)
After trying to shave down the end of them to get a standard 6 sided socket around it... I tried taking a mallet and a chisel but that didnt get far...
Finally took a 19mm 12sided socket, Pounded it over the locking wheel lock, Since the material is soft, I was able to pound them on... Got it on hard enough and broke it through...
I got all 3 of them off that way... When I got to the last one, it stripped... So I did it with a 17mm...
What a PAIN IN THE BUTT!
I do NOT recomend loosing the lug wrench adapter if you have the Rays Duralumin lugs...

wow, wat a PITA!....i always thought that the "lock" was not that good because i figured a thief could just get an adapter from any set and shave down that "male" key part. that is why i put an additional lock on my volks.
i think Volk should have put the "male" key portion on the lug instead of the adapter to make it more difficult for thieves.
hey good thing they didnt, huh jason....or you prolly would have had a more difficult time pounding that socket over 'em

its an extra 4 minutes the way im talkin about...
ssc - now that is the way to do it... but, they make differnet size sockets for the short and long nuts....

i have the nismo lug nuts and i managed to crack the 7 sided key from too much pressure... i was able to find someone in socal that had the same lug nuts tho and he was able to take it off for me

I lost my key for a couple hours last week...I left it on after finishing a brake pad change and took it for a test drive. Luckily I only drove around the neighborhood cause I was able to find it on the road after backtracking the route I took.
After reading about your problems, I'll definitely be more careful next time.

For the Rays Duralumin, the little tooth is different on every set... So the other sets we have dont work :-/

at last check, Rays did not sell lugs or keys seperately...I managed to lose a lug last year (forgot to tighten it with the torque wrench so was on hand tight), and had to buy a whole new set

Is there anyway to get a locks/keys? or Is there another way to get the lug out?
I lost my Rays Duralumin locks/keys the other day. I try to work with other locks/keys from my friend but it didn't match.

unless you can find a blank 7 sided socket then your pretty much sunk...
the tooth is in a differnt location on each set...
there is a number on the side of the locking nut, i tried to get a new one... but, no luck...

Another option to consider would be a splined socket. It has a slight taper to it so when you place it over the lock and hammer it on, it cuts into it and grips it. Although it's designed for round style locks, it might still work in a case like this.
