Thumbs down Nissan says Potenzas out of stock?

Well, i posted this thread on behalf of my brother.

The local Nissan service spot (Universal Nissan=****ing idiots/worst service ever) has made countless appointments with him and never ended up replacing his tires under warranty for the feathering.

Long story short in the end they told him these Potenzas were on NATIONAL BACKORDER. Can anybody else confirm this? Going through the same?

Same thing happened with the TSB for the '03s. Everybody shows up in the first couple of weeks after the letter and the warehouse gets emptied trying to fill all the replacements.

Tell them to give you the Pilot Sports instead. They will be using these on the '06's.

Yeah they told me the same thing....a month ago....still waiting.

I have half a mind to tell them to give me the pilot sports, but I think ill be opening up a whole other can of worms like that.

I wouldn't dobut that they are on national backorder. I would definitely see about getting the new OEM tire instead.

+1 To that!

While reading this thread I was wondering, "Why would you want these tires anyway?"

I don't think it's a matter of want. The TSB indicates replacement with the redesigned Potenza if I recall correctly. They don't give you a choice.

I tried to convince him to purchase a new/better set but i guess when this "recall" arrived he changed his mind. He is his own person and makes his choices

He called others and i'm not sure what they stated. Probably said the same thing. Backorder.

Thanks for the comment of the sig, haha. I like it myself.

just wondering, I am dropping off my 03 for the TSB as well next Tuesday and I was considering getting a new set of tires on my own wallet. I assume it's fine if I just have them do my alignment and not do the tire replacement, correct? I don't want to pay for the price difference for whatever tire wear there currently is for tires I don't even like--I think the mailed TSB said I have to pay the DIFFERENCE of how much my current tires are worn...and they look like they are gonna charge my 100% judging the fraction of wear I can measure.
