Disconecting TCS system in an Enthusiast Jason please read
Note to Jason: Is the ABS actuator the same part number in the Base and Enhusiast Z?
If they are the same part number, I am wondering if, since the Base model Z has no TCS (Traction Control System) and the Enthusiast model has TCS, if the wiring cah be changed to that the same as Base model, eliminating the TCS in the Enthusiast model.
Looking at the wiring diagrams for the TCS system I note that the only difference in the wiring in a car without TCS and one with TCS is the connection of terminal 19 in the E51 connector to the TCS off switch. This connection also makes an internal connection to the Data Link Connector at the E106 connector.
It would make sense that there is a Data Link Connection which is read by the Engine Control System to decrese throtle, etc in a TCS cycle.
I am wondering if the Terminal 19 connection in the E51 connector is pulled would that convert the car to the same wiring as the Base model and therefore delete the TCS system.
Does anyone know if this is true?
