Keep bending my wheels! :(
its tire pressure... doesn't matter how strong the rim is, if you have low PSI in your tires and you hit a bump, there isn't enough air to distribute the impact so your rim takes the hit... I might be on the paranoid side but I run with 38+ psi on the street at ALL times. That means adding air to the tire on a weekly basis as temperatures drop lower and lower in the fall. I have cast 19s on 245/35/19 and I haven't had a single problem yet... *knock on wood*
lol, great. i have 4 brand new sf- challenge wheels in my basement waiting for spring. with our great roads in michigan, those 19's are going to look like recycled pop cans in no time.
Does this look familure? Chunked the inside of a stock rim a few weeks ago. Many may have bent rims and not know it as they tend to bend on the inside. Ever hit anything hard? Potholes happen. A bend like this will show up as a slight vibration in the steering wheel at freeway speeds. FYI-Repair cost around $200.
Yeah looks real familiar. Best of luck with that. I am taking my wheel off probably sometime next week to get it fixed. It's not really about the money it's just such a PIA to have to deal with this crap.
