Default Tire Sizing Question - Falken FK 451

I have the OE 18' Wheels.

They do not make the Falken FK 451 in the 225-45-18 size.

Can I put the 245-45-18 tires on the front wheels?

Thanks,

245-40-18 are only .2" shorter than the stock fronts if they have that size and it should fit the stock rim. That's the size I'm going to with my rear Goodyears F-1 GS-D3 since they don't make a 225-45-18.

I spoke to Discount Tires customer service area, specifically someone that knows sizing.

He suggested I go with the 235-40-18 in the FRONT (since the Falcon 451 tire does not come in the OE 225-45-18 size) and he said to stay with the
245-45-18 in the rear.

He said the fronts will be only .5 inch shorter than the OE size.

I ordered the Falcons and they are putting them on today.

235-40-18: 645.20mm tall

245-45-18: 677.70mm tall

A difference of 32.50mm. Let us know how that works out with VDC. Thanks.

I am scared to put 40 series tires on the Z, the 45s seem low enough. I have always had rim damage within 20K of driving on 35 and 40 series tires on previous cars..

245-40-18 are closer in height (-.2") and fit the stock front wheel if they have that size.

I was comparing the difference in height between the OE front tires and the new front tires. That difference is .5 inch. (25.4 vs 25.9) The purpose was to compare how much lower the front of the car will be after the new lower profile tires go on compared to before. Half inch is not much, so my hope is that the car will not look like it was olowered in the front.

I have a Z Roadster Touring, soVDC was not a concern.

New Falcan 451s go on in 3 hours!!!

Default 235-40-18

the 235-40-18 will go on great!! thats what I have and rides, looks, and pretty much feels the same. And you can't really tell that the front sits any lower, if it really does not too noticeable.

2 choices, that's it :

235-40F & 255-40R

245-40F & 245-45R less understeer, great !

(on stock rims)

I went with 235 - 40 F and 245-45 R

Can 10mm extra width in the front make that much of a difference in oversteer?
