Yes but I’m not certain that it can be done with precision. See: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/...jsp?techid=101

What's the purpose of knowing the offset of the wheels? I still don't understand it. Somebody please help answer my dumb question.

Fairlady, the offset locates the rim in or out (pos or neg), which combined with your tire size could end up with a tire that doesn't fit in the space available. People use diff offsets to get their favorite rim and tire combo as close to the fender lip as they can without cutting the tires... If you go to eBay and buy 19x8.5 rims, you still could end up with a setup that won't fit under the fender. You need to know the offset.

+38 offset

JJ is the safety rating... It is rated for passenger vehicles... Passenger vehicles being passenger car...

Truck wheels have different ratings...

that depends on weight...

I have a chart at work for that...

Now taht I think of it... JJ is rated for small truck / highway use & passenger vehicle...

J is highperformance alloy...

ehh.. ill look at the chart

The wheels I'm having on my car doesn't state any offset anywhere on the back of the rim.
