Default Help with with and offset on Axis Hiro

i've finally decided to get wheels for my baby. Im looking at getting some Axis Hiro's

Im planning on 19x8.5 front and 19x10.5 rear. If you want to know why 10.5 vs 9.5 rear, the 10.5 have a 3.25" lip vs 2.25" lip on the 9.5

What would be the recommended offset for these wheels? I need help with both front and rear offset. Problem is the Axis website doesnt list the available offsets for the wheels. I believe the 10.5 is a +35 offset wheel only but I could be wrong.

As far as tires, i was thinking a 245 front and a 285 rear. Supposedly 275's look stretched on the 10.5 hiros. Would 285 or would a 295 be better? I do plan on lowering the car with tanabe springs. Would a 285 or 295 require me to roll my fenders?

Thanks for the help! I want to clear this up before I order my wheels.

you can NOT get Hiro's, I already have them.....ok you can get them, as long as they're not the anthracite ones As far as offset, I dunno what mine are, I left that up to the guy that ordered them. I have the 9.5" wide ones in the rear with 275's, for me no need to go any wider

This is all asuming you're going with 19's

Dude I beat myself up to near death for WEEKS on trying to figure out how to use a 10.5" Hiro on the rear without having tires that looked stretched and that gave a 3/4" stagger front to rear and it's not worth it. Fact is using a 10.5" rear, you will never get the OD to be the same as stock unless you use a 275/35/19 tire, which depending on your tastes looks stretched. A lot of people don't seemed to be bothered with a tire designed for a 1" narrower (9.5") wheel but to each his own, I hate the way they look.

The best I could ever come up with was using a 305/30/19 on a 10.5" and a 235/40/19 on a 8.5" front. It gives you the 3/4" stagger but both of your OD's will be 1/2" less than factory specs, which is close enough for me but I decided the price was not worth it.

If you wanted to use a 9.5" in the front you could use a 265/35 (about 1" of stagger instead of 3/4") or even 275/35 (if that would even fit).

By the way the 10.5" rears only come in one offset.

Good luck man.

Personally I would run 245/35's on 8.5's and 275/35's on 9.5's

Also if you have any doubts as to whether or not the 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 setup on 8.5" and 9.5" won't look good enough, check out chazzg's blue Z towards the bottom of this pages link....

This is what sold me on that setup as opposed to the 10.5's on the rear.

There is also a thread somewhere that shows a silver Z with the 10.5 rear and the lip is just massive I could run a 285 and not worry about the stretched look. The only problem I would assume is I wouldn't be able to use my TCS, which 99% of the time I drive with it off anyway....

I dont know, I probably would not go this route for one small reason...or a bunch of small reasons. CRACKS!! I was close to buying these wheels when I did some searching around. A bunch of people have had this problem.

Do a search. Decide for yourself.

Just go with BFG KDW-2's and you wont have much of the "stretched" look. They have a generous sidewall when compared to Toyo's.

Well my new wheels are on their way!

Now i need to decide what size tires to get. When helping me decide what size tires to get keep in mind that losing my TCS is not much of an issue to me as I usually turn it off first thing when I get in the car.

I am thinking 285 rears and 255 fronts, just trying to figure out profile. Ive been reading from alot of people on my350z.com that 285/35's look nasty so I was figuring a 285/30 and in front a 255/35 or 255/30?

255/35 is too tall when used in conjuction with a 285/30 rear. As for a 255/30, you really wanna leave your wheel that naked? I feel that 275/30 is very little protection from pot holes but damn 255/30?

To all those running a 255 / 285 combo on 19" wheels, what profiles are you using?

255/35 and a combination of 285/30 or 285/35, never heard of anyone running 255/30 front
