Default 18x9.0 all the way around?

ok i plan on dropping. and i dont want to rub. also id rather run 18s because i cant live with myself rolling on 19s just too big.

would 18x9.0 all around look ok if i had a decent drop?
also what tire size should i go with since now id be able to potentially swap all 4 tires?

these wheels

265/35/18 if you're going to lower it.

255/40/18 if not.

275/35/18 would work again if you lower it but you're front will rely on offset to avoid rub.

My 18x9.5+22 front and rear rubbed on a 275/40/18 tire at the front requiring me to flare (not roll) the fender.

do those number fluctuate at all? tires.com(discount) only has 1 kind of tire in 265/35/18

255/40/18 is perfect for an 8.5 or 9" wide wheel. Remember the wider the front tire the greater the effort in turning your steering wheel. The difference between my 275/40/18 front and 245/35/19 front is like night and day.

I also had to turn off my TCS every time i started the car when running the same tires front and rear. Any turn would make the light go on and I'd get the TCS all PO'd.

will those problems continue to occur if im running 255/40/18 on both front and back? if so i might as well just get different size wheels and tires and not worry about rotating them since it wouldnt be possible without problems

what about 18x8.0 front and 18x9.0 back will that look wierd on the rim shown above because 18x9 is as wide as it gets for that rim

+1. The same size wheels all around are fine: the same size tires may cause a headache with TCS. Select a tire for the rear which is a bit taller than the front.

Thanks for asking. I don't comment on “looks” so I’ll stick to performance and handing.

Front: 18x8
Rear: 18X9

...works well. No problem with front clearance. And a little extra rubber the rear will help with understeer.

davidv - "And a little extra rubber the rear will help with understeer"

did you mean width or height of tire?

for width , to lessen understeer you either need to widen the tires up front or more narrow in the rear.

for height, to lessen understeer you either need to shorten your front tires or have taller rear tires

pp

Excuse my error. A little extra width in the rear will help with OVERSTEER. Sorry.

No probem, 18/8front with 235/40 & 18/9rear with 255/40. Lowered with Tein S tech + 15mm front spacers/20mm rear spacers for 35 offset all around.
