Thumbs up Gruppe-S Dry Carbon Strut Brace intro!

Hey guys,

We have just manufactured a dry carbon front upper strut brace. As many of you know, dry carbon is used throughout race cars and its very strong and light. This is the real stuff, not some cheap imitation crap on ebay. Also, it is a direct replacement for the stock without any modification. If your stock strut can fit under any kind of plenum spacers...this one will too!

Please let me know what you think..

Normal price: $299 shipped

Groupbuy price: $249 shipped with 10 people

Thanks,
Tom

If you made one that fit with the taller plenums, I'd be in!

The ends are aluminum. You can tell by the thick welds. It does look really good and has definately caught my attention. I would also be curios to see how much it weighs.

Looks like the JIC one. Is the JIC brace a dry or wet carbon mold, anyone?

The JIC brace is their aluminum one with a CF overlay.

one more dumb question:

with less than a pound on the bar (CF part), do you think they are strong enough to do the job?

Also, how is that going to hold up to the heat in the engine bay? I've seen far too much CF parts end up lookin like trash after a month........

and yeah, the strength is an issue for me too. That's a structural addition that should see abuse, can it stand up to the pressure?

This bar is made in a pre-preg and dry process which consists of vaccum forming sheets of carbon fiber into a mold at temperatures around 350 degrees. This process allows carbon fiber to form into a strong and lightweight composite. Dry carbon parts are used throughout racing for its strenght and weight reduction.

Thanks,
Tom

What about the Height. Does it clear any raised plenums. Ie., APS Tall Boy. Looks really good, what about the heat underneath a turbo'd 350z. Can it withstand that heat and any warranty for the part.

Would one have to clear coat it to keep it from getting dingy?

After reading this again I have a question. If it is formed at 350 degrees, would it hold up to higher temps. Im not sure what the temp is under the engine but it definitely gets hot. I really like the strut brace it looks very rigid and clean.

Seeing that the engine itself never gets close to the 350 degree range I don't think you have to worry about it.
