strut bar
The OEM strut brace is a compromise design. It is bent so that it fits over the top of the plenum. It would be more rigid if it was straight. Also notice that the brace does NOT attach to the top of the strut. The brace attaches to one of the three bolts which mount the strut to the body. So you may as well call the strut brace a “strut tower” brace or engine brace.
It engine modifications prohibit you from using the OEM brace, get another.
If you are racing, search for a more suitable brace.
If neither of the two above apply, the OEM brace is fine.

personally i think the flat area in the middle gives the brace.. more rigidity. think about it.. what is stronger.. a straight curve bar or one that is bent the opposite direction a litte. which one would be easier to bend even more?? obviously the already curve one... the flat sortens the curve and actually cancels each others sides force.
