Default 18x9.5 Rims, is it possible/recommended to use them as front wheels???

I have a local guy that is selling Enkei PK6 deep dish wheels for sale. Description from ad:

Brand: Enkei
Model: PK6
Color: Silver w/chrome 3" lip
How many: 4 rims (no tires)
Size: 18X9.5 with a 25mm offset
Bolt pattern: 114.3

I can get the set for like $500 or maybe less. I was just curious to see if they would work. And, if so, will they affect handling, rubbing etc. Also, whatdo you thinks of these rims. I am not totally sold on them but would like some feedback if possible.

Use one of the offset calculators above and compare the new wheels to your current ones. Then check the car with a tape to see if you will have any clearance problems.

Check the new RS Z33 thread... Nissan was able to run the same wheels as the GT-R Nismo wheels. Deep in front and rear. You should be fine.

You might get better results if you post in the "Modification, brakes/tires/wheels" section

I'm running nismos 18x9.5 all the way around but they're 30+ offset, I've heard that 25 will bug out of the wheel wells. Btw I'm also running a 35 profile so that helps with clearance to the fender.

For my street setup I'm running 19X9.5 +22 up front without any problems. Tire size is 255/35/19

I run a 18x9.5" wheel up front with a 265/35/18 and it works great. Offset on mine is +27. Your's will stick out 2mm more than mine, but that will be fine.

Somebody just posted this link about a good article on which wheels fit and the purpose (it was in the "wider wheels for track" thread 2 days ago or so)

http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/pr.../0404scc_350z/

EDIT: sorry link was broken

Read it, it says something about having had to use a spacer, offsets, handling and so on...

EDIT Again:
Basically (I am no expert) I think this article means that if you use a 18x9.5 wheel with 25 offset and 275 tires, that it would not work. At least this is my interpretation.

nope its only a 5mm difference...

i ran 9.5 +27mm and had room for a 5-10mm spacer

rear 9.5 +30mm can run a 10-15mm spacer... 9.5+25mm is only 5mm more then the 30mm...

Have you taken into consideration the TCS and/or VDC systems??? It seems that if the size if the tires is not staggered as is the stock format it causes the TCS & VDC systems to activate frequently. Check that out to make sure it won't affect you.

Thanks for all the responses guys? I am new to the whole 350z scene and you guys are really helpful.

One more question though, I currently have Infiniti 18 wheels on my Z, the tire sizes are 225/40/18 in the fronts and 245/45/18 in the rear. This may be a dumb question, but will they work with the 18x9.5 wheels if i decided to buy them.

I have attached a pic of the wheels. (hopefully it comes through). Also, do you thin these will look good on a ppw Z

One more thing, Is it wierd that I have 40s in the front and 45s in the rear??

The tires are brand spankin new and are BFG KDW G-force tires. I bought the car with the Infiniti rims and tires. I really would like to use them if possible.

If i cant, I will just keep these rims ane tires in my garage and switch them as spres as i need them.

thats one of the reasons i suggest 275/35/18 / 275/40/18 it does not effect the VDC / TCS system and it allows for great turn in and response...

So, just to clearify, running an 18x9.5 +25 with 275/35R18 in front works?

Chris
