Default Wheels and tires for under $1500...what would you buy

As much as I would like to have a set of Volk TE37's, or a set of Work wheels, I just can't justify spending that much money on a set of wheels right now. Myself, and many others I would think, have some sort of budget we like to stay on. So......if you know of a wheel/tire combo that won't break the bank, post up!(Pics too if you have any) Here's the criteria:

-$1500 max for wheels, tires, shipped to your door
-Must be 17" or larger
-Can't be heavier than the stock 17" wheels with tires
-If you are really good, some staggered setups as well
-No spinners please

My friend here in Houston is selling his silver nismo 18" wheels with Falken tires for $1500. You'd have to pay for shipping though. Probably somewhere between $100-$150 for UPS ground. Tires and wheels have about 5000 miles on them. I know he hasn't sold them yet, but he does have it listed on other forums so...let me know if your interested, then I will foward the your info to him...

19" Axis Hiro's.

$1,200 shipped to your door. Buy the 2 front tires but you'll have to steal the 2 rear tires.

You are asking for too much for too little. $2,000 puts you at the low end of forged wheels. Anything less than $2,000 and you are looking at cast wheels. One way to circumvent the cost of forged wheels is to look at a semi-forged process such as that offered by SSR: about 19 pounds and $1,500/4.

If you have a cap of $1500, I would go to EBAY or the classifieds here and pick up some RAYS. Yesterday, I saw a pair of rays "Z" track rims go for $750 w/tires, two of the tires were new Toyos. Yea, you may have a nick or two, but the quality of the rim will be superior to that of a cheaper brand. When it comes to rims, a lot of times you get what you pay for...

What kind of wheels, where did you get them, and what offset?

I completely forgot about the OEM G35 wheels. Anyone seen a 350z with a set of R34 wheels? There was a red 300zx running around chicago with a set, looked amazing.

save up and get what you really want. you end paying more in the end if you settle for wheels.
