I posted this also in the Cleaning section. But I'd like to get some more responses on this. Basically my 5 month old SF-Challenges have a purple/reddish tint to them in the sunlight. I've never used wheel cleaners and have always washed the wheels with soap and water. I've waxed the wheels with NXT wax and Wheel Wax. It happened on all 4 wheels. How can I fix this??

If you can swing by the meet tonight then I'll see if it's fixable.

The clear coat is fading. Same thing happened to mine. I just went and bought metal polish. Its in a blue bottle. Its good stuff. Shines it up. Just gotta polish it every once in a while.

the same thing happened to my vol gt-7s this two fronts arew much worse than the rear. i think it may have something to the brake dust being corrosive.. then again i could be way off. like you, i never put any harsh chemicals on the rims. anyway, i haven't really found a good solution yet... if you find one please let me know.

I saw Tzuten's wheels last night and I am still trying to figure out exactly why the wheel has taken the urple purple look. Don't get me wrong but it'll look hot if there was more of a titanium hue to it, ubber hot. Anyways, somehow whatever the purple cleaner he used absorbed into the clearcoat and yes there is a clearcoat to the Volks. Try using Mother's clear coat polish or clear coat safe cleaners and if that doesn't work you might want to contact the place you bought it from and see if they can do anything. There's a part of me that thinks it was a bad batch from the factory. Good luck with them.

I spoke to Chris at F1 motorsports where i purchased them. Basically he said the distributor will not do anything as they cannot prove I did not use harsh chemicals on the lip. He provided me a with a number to call the distributor, but I am very unhappy that I spent all this $$$ on purple wheels.

I like I said in the other thread, could be a QC issue.
