Default Goodyear Racing - 24V Cordless Impact Wrench

For those of you who autox or drag or HPDE drive on a different set of wheels/tires may find this handy. The Goodyear Racing 24V 1/2" cordless impact wrench.

Variable speed so you can gingerly get your lugs on and off quickly while using a torque wrench for tightening.

The ones on ebay are going for ~$125 +shipping...luckily I lost my bid of $101 because Pep Boys carries them for $89.99 plus $10.00 mail-in rebate, picked mine up today and is charging as I speak. Woot!

Good find. I've seen a few people at autox events with electric impact wrenchs and figured it was a good idea.

Good buy! I picked up a Chicago one from Harbor Freight. Supposedly up to 220 ft/lbs for about $90 also, on sale a few months ago.

Get this... in the latest catalog they mail out, the 19.2V (220 ft/lb) Chicago impact wrench is on sale for $69.99.

Ahhh.... but I have a Harbor Freight just a couple blocks from where I live. Thanks for the FYI.

Yeah, saw that, but I'm not sure if it's the exact same. There are like 3 different ones in the latest catalog that are priced slightly differently, but look almost identical. Specs are also all very similar. I picked mine up in the store, so you're limited to what the store carries. The one in Everett only had 1, which is the one I bought. Harbor Freight retail stores, the catalog, and their online website carry different stuff.

The one I got 3 years ago went for $129. It's a 19.2V too and suppose to be good up to 270 ft/lbs. This one they have on sale now seems to be almost the same but has a slightly shorter body. There's another one that is 18V and supposedly does up to 110 ft/lbs but it's barely strong enough to break wheel lugs torqued to 82 ft/lbs, only after hitting the lug for a good 5+ seconds.

You know that whatever sale price you find on-line, they will match at the retail stores, right? In some cases, paying the sales tax for some low cost but bulky items is a lot cheaper than the cost of shipping, especially if you live in OR.

I hate to say it, but I think I might have a mild addiction to all these cheap knock-off tools.

Oh, I know they match prices. What I'm saying is that if the store doesn't even carry that particular item, they can't match anything in that case.

In any case, it doesn't do a good job of breaking the lugnuts on my front wheels, which have more turns/thread or whatever. It breaks the rears fairly easily...
