Default Replace rays valvestems every time I switch out tires?

Well, I have had my nismo rims for nearly 2 years now. Everything is great but the time has come to get new tires. My old ones are nearly bald and have about 14000 miles on them. My question is, do I replace the rays valvestems when I replace my tires? Or do they not need to be changed out because they are metal?

I am just not feeling too good about spending nearly 500 dollars on tires (rear only) and then having to spend 40 DOLLARS! on two valve stems. Thanks for the help...

no need to change valve stems unless they are damaged in a way that they can no longer function properly.

Especially if you have TPS, the sensors are mounted to the metal stem.

If you are buying new tires, why not add $20 for new valve stems for a quality job.

Nismo (Rays) valve stems are metal, $20 a piece, and do not need to be replaced unless damaged.

There is a rubber grommet between the valve and the wheel. Make sure that you get those replaced.

yea, just the grommet. The valves are metal and they are fine and should last you as long as the life of the rim.

I've had two sets of wheels on my lmgt4's and didn't replace gromments..lol. I would think your tire dealers would have them. Really don't think they are needed. The stem should not be removed during tire mounting but then again I'm no expert. BTW...I have no air leaks, slow or other wise.

make sure you tell them not to replace the stem, sum dumbazz's might try? a friend at work had the bent/angled stems on his wheels. they put new ones in w/o asking. and put the wrong ones in? i dont know the whole story i just remember him saying something like this?
