i just purchased 20" rims and i went to my local wholesale tire spot and they had 275/35/20 Falken tires for $170 each. Are these worth getting? Ive never had Falkens before and would like to hear what some people think of their tires?
They also have Toyo 245/35/20 for $170 each which i will be puttin on the front.
Def sounds like a great price, but i was just curious what people thought of the Falken tire quality

I actually just got my shipment of Falken FK-451's from discount tire direct...the design looks really nice and from what I gathered around the site it is a really good tire as well.

I have some (fk-451's) and can break them loose way too easy. I wish I had gone with the BFG KDW's but the Falkens came in a package with my wheels. I'm planning on roasting these and then changing over to the BFG's when I get some spare cash.

Also, Grassroots mag did a tire comparison for AutoX on street tires, the 615's won by a full second (doesn't seem like much, but in AutoX that 1 second is a VERY BIG DEAL), even over the tires that cost $100 more each!! The only problem was the 615's don't handle being heated up, of coarse no street tire that will last over 10,000 mile can perform that well when heated up.
Just be careful if you mix tires on front and back. 245 front and 275 rear is a good combo, yet if your front tires are different than the back, and they grip a lot better under certain conditions, your VDC could be the end of you. Our VDC is designed for understeer!!
One more thing, every great performance handling book will tell you the same thing, the biggest and best modification you can do to your car is the tires. So don't look at $ when choosing a tire, look at the performance you want.
Oh by the way, I talked to Luke at Tirerack, and he is the one who convinced me to buy Falken's - and they don't even sell them!

sounds good. I wasn't looking for a great performance tire, I don't go to the track, or auto cross or even drive that hard but the Falkens sound like a good deal then. they're from a discount tire/wheel spot on long island. the price sounded really good. My friend just got 18" chrome rims with p zeros for $1,000 for his altima
