Back to being "Played out"
I don't think any wheel color combos are played out.
They've been around for years and as long we mod cars, it'll never be played out. It's only a matter of preference.
Cheap wheels are played out. but as long as they're affordable they'll be played.
Maybe white wheels...I haven't seen any of those for awhile.

but if it was my decision. i think the older you are the more you would want to veer towards the black on black. but if your younger, you could rock the gold.
i think black/black is more baller/classy and black/gold has a more boy racer feel. Def black/gold is the rarer combo and will turn more heads.

^ LOL!
I like both... The Black w/gold looks nice, a little bling, but with style because it's gold. A setup done many times before, but not played as much as white gold ie chrome. The black w/black says this car is Evil, so cool that the bling is not needed I say you can't go wrong with either one also!
This is going to be my winter setup I decided to go Evil 4 months out of the year. I also just like the drastic change from my summer setup. It keeps things a little more interesting.

I don't think you can go wrong with black on black. I remember seeing a 300z back in 95 that was black with some black 5 spoke pattern wheels. I had forgotten all about it until 2 weeks ago. I saw the car again and it still looks nice. I agree with what was said earlier..i dont think anything but chrome goes out of style.

Black wheels look great when done right, on any color Z. Check out my black/polished on DB. Scroll down to see plenty of pics https://my350z.com/forum/forced-induction/177093-tuned-my-turbonetics-z-at-aam.html
