Default Proper offset for 9.5" wheels up front

I'm looking to get a set of wheels soon. Hopefully 18 or 19 x 9.5 all-around. My question is this: Is there an offset that will work ok for the front and rear on a 9.5" wheel.

Most of the wheels I'm seeing are +30 to +35 offset for rwd. Will these work OK? Im concerned by the amount of wheel that may extent out of the well.

BTW : Sorry for the newb question. I did check the fittment calc that stickied to the forum, and it shows -17mm to strut and +33 on the outside... My real question, has anyone run this setup and did it rub?

I'd be looking to run something around a 245/40 or 275 series rubber.

I ran with 8.5x19 front with +23 offset and 9.5x19 rear with +24 offset. No rubbing at all. rear were 275-35-19 and front were 245-35-19. No problems. BEN

Chris from F1motorsports should be able to help you. Btw, I have 19" X 9.5" +19 in front and 19" X 10.5" +29 in the back on 245/275 SO3s

first question - why run the same size all around? Do you know enough about tuning the rest of the suspension to actually get this to work succesfully?

I am running 18x9.5 +30 all the way around, the fronts fit perfectly, I have pics here

I don't know if you want to go any lower offset than 30 up front, they are pretty flush. O also don't know if you can get a +35 on there, it's a bit tight. The backs you could go with a +22 if you were looking to flush them out as well.

Has anyone found a really good racing setup with particular sizes, widths, and suspension?

I would go 9.5/10.5 +22 all around (offsets depending on the type of wheel you get of course). I hear some people who get 8.5/9.5 regret it and would have rather gotten the 9.5/10.5. Trust me, I was one of them. And yes, Chris at F1 Motorsports in N. Hollywood, CA will help you out. He'll probably tell you the same thing I just did. The 9.5/10.5 will look GOOD on your Z. And no, no rubbing issues with mine.

What kind of handling characteristics does this promote? How is off-the-line acceleration? Although I don't drag my car, how would a 1/4 mile be affected?

One last question, what about 9" and 10" :P

Because I don't drag myself, I wouldn't know about 1/4 mile times. As for handling, I think it's great. The car feels very planted on the road when you do quick turns and stuff. 9.0/10.0 is another possiblity, but if you got the money, I would go 9.5/10.5. Just looks better in my opinion.

I run an 18x9.5 up front with +27 offset. Clears my 265's easy.
