Default would you run a 275-30-19 if you got it for free?

OK, I need new rear tires super super bad, front are new. My dad just won an auction on ebay for his car that come wheels (he will keep) and also with tires that don't fit his car, I bet I can talk him into giving them to me. I don't think they will have much value if I tried to sell them as they are a small euro brand vredestein. That being said, I might have a set of 245-35-19 and 275-30-19 vredestein tires sitting around. I know some people say they run them with NO problems, and normally I wouldn't buy a slightly wrong sized tire, but it is sure tempting to run if they are free.

What would you do???

No I would not run a 275/30/19 on the rear, unless I was going to immediatly do a burnout until they blew out because a 275/30/19 is the wrong diameter/profile for the rear and looks like a$$.

But at least the price is right.

It will drive fine. it just won't look as good flushed compared to the 35 profile.
Plus it's free. can't go wrong with that.

I am lowered as well, is that what people mean by it won't look right? Because the gap will be too big, or do they look like crap on the wheel?

Most importantly your rims will have less protection. A 35 series keeps the tire diameter just about the same as stock. So, aesthetically who cares because looks are subjective anyway, as far as protection, your better off with a 35 series tire. I'm running a 285/35 rear and it looks perfect.

Really depends on how big your rim is in the rear, a 275/30 tire isnt that bad especially if you are lowered over an inch, one of the problems though is your speedometer is off and miles will rack up faster if you drive alot. I have heard it messes the VDC? Anyways, here is my rear rim when I have a 275/30 on a 10.5 rim, I HATED them from day 1, they are just to small....my 285/35 BFG's are perfection.

Are you rolling a 10" rear or a 10.5"?

If its 10", screw it just roll them real quick. If its 10.5", there will simply be too much stretch...UGLY.

Even the 10" is pushing it, but if you can deal with the look and associated risk of a smaller sidewall for a while, then go for it. It's not as bad as everyone says, especially if you are dropped.

I am running 10" rear. Would it look more or less stretched than my current 275/35/19??

More stretched. The 275/35 gives a lil more "sidewall" give. The 30 series is pushing it. Trust me on this, you'll see like a mm of the barrel of the wheel (or at least this is how it appears).

How long will you rock the tires? BTW haven't seen you online in ages bro.

ravi, thanks, I best get these FREE tires and put them on ebay and get the proper rears. My 275/35 are already a little strecthed on my 10", so I think I will go 285/35, I HATE the look of the wheel sticking out more than the tire, if I settled for that, I would regret it for as long as the tires are on the car. PLUS, I think my wheel (by todays standards) sits just a tiny bit into the wheel well, more than i'd like (now that so many people are running crazy +20 and +22 offsets........I am running +24mm with a 10" IIRC), so this bigger tire will help make the wheel look a little wider compared to the fender.

I haven't been on as much lately, too many other toys I am trying to play with (surf and motocross). I pretty much got my car to where I like it and now I am not making a lot of mods anymore. I still come around here and use the search feature and read some stuff, just don't post as much as I use to. Thanks for asking.

is 275/30/19 ok for 9.5x19 25mm wheels?
how about 285/30/19 for 10.5x19 35mm wheels?
