Well, as a few of you know, I ordered my TE37s from a shop called R&D Motorsports, located in South Carolina. I placed my order for these wheels on October 21st of last year.

Initially, they were to arrive on or around December 21st. When that time rolled around, R&D said the wheels were slowed up in customs in LA.

The first week of January they were supposedly on the way to the shop.

January 14th, the case was that Mackin had screwed up and the wheels were actually on the boat heading over from Japan and would be in at the end of the month. The story was that all of the wheels for the 350Z were held up because of some mix-up at Mackin.

On January 28th, R&D said that Mackin had stated the wheels would be in early to mid-February.

Now, we are approaching mid-February. Am I getting scammed here? I suspect I am. I know the lead time for wheels from Japan, and it's usually 60-90 days and often less. Now we're going on 5 months. The whole set-up seems so suspect. Needless to say, I'm very concerned and getting very, very angry, as these are not some $50 sidemarkers but over $3000 w/tires.

 

Hmm, sounds suspicious, but haven't some people ordered from the same place without problems? I would suggest either asking MonkeyMan if this seems reasonable, or cancelling and ordering from him instead.

 

Yes, john350z ordered gunmetal Volks from them, and received his weeks ago, but I can't imagine that he ordered his before me.

What's more, the original estimated delivery date was 12-21. When I placed the order, they billed me for about half the total order cost, $1340. Then, on 12-23, they billed me for the other half of the order, another $1340, even though the wheels hadn't arrived yet.
