stepped lip stronger than a standard cast lip?

Or is it the other way around.....
From what I know, every stepped lip out there is typically made of forged aircraft grade aluminum.
I'm wondering if a standard cast lip might be stronger due the increased thickness of the metal.
Just curious what everyone's thoughts are.

Any wheels that don't have a stepped lip are technically called a reverse lip meaning the step is actually on the other side of the face where you don't see it. So similar strength is found between the wheels.
The difference between cast vs lipped wheels is almost moot depending on the various methods and materials used in casting which will affect strength versus how the lip is constructed IMO.
