I actually sprayed one of my rotors badly and the paint was everywhere on that rotor. I could not find anything to clean it off so I said "f-it, i am going to buy some slotted rotors anyway..."... For the next few days, my car was sitting in the garage and the paint was dried completely on the rotor....
I thought that was the end to my rotor but the paint was magically gone (I mean completely gone) after I drove my car for a few miles.....

yup mine did this too. im pretty sure the contact between the pads and rotors took it off.

ahhh masking and taping up brakes to be painted
takes me back to when i was 18 all those 6 yrs ago
i painted the brakes on my Alfa black and realised i had to do the disc hubs too after fitting a set of open spoked wheels
i used plenty of newspaper, and good quality masking tape that was easily re-shapeable into a curve, think some old bed covers made it in there too to cover the car completely - those metallic flakes from silver paint go everywhere

I fried my brakes at the track one time and ended up going with a stage 2 upgrade. I went with cross-drilled rotors, upgraded lines, pads, and motul fluid. With the upgrade I went from 120ft 60-0 to 107ft 60-0. I painted my calipers since mine turned gold from the racing incident. I think the calipers look great, especially if you go with new rotors. Here's a pic.

Anyway, if you are worried that it would be rice (someone one told me it meant - Race Inspired, Cosmetic Enhancement) than don't do it, because some people will inevitably know they are stock painted a color and some people will think thats stupid. Why you would care what other people think, that's your own bag. For me, i'm getting a front BBK for track. I keep getting told it's a waste of time getting the rear, so guess what i'm getting the back painted to match the front (which will be black BTW). Anyway, to each his/her own. Like the great prophet Humpty once said, smell how ya like.
