I suggest searching, but I think a 255 or 265 is the widest you can go. What is the width again? I've never dealt with the 17's nor do I know how wide they are.

Default widest tires

Stock 17" rears can handle 275's. The fronts 255's. I got a 2ed set and have mounted 275's on 4 rear rims and used the 4 front rims for my street tires. Works very well.

I dont think putting 275's on the stock 17's is safe. Yes it might fit but the bead might come off the rim when taking turns too hard.

I have 255/45/17 on my rears and 245/45/17 in the fronts.

I have auto-xed with 275/40/17 Falken Azenis 615's on the stock 17's. No problems at all. You just need a tire with a stiff sidewall.

I also autocross 275/40s all around on stock 17" rims. I am into my second season on this combo with no problems at all. I am running Kumho Victoracer V700s.

Recommend OEM width plus 20mm.

did u just say all around? even on the 17x7.5 front rims with a 275, let me see tire rack real quick...

Tire rack specs
kuhmo victoracers
tire size 275/40 ZR17
Rim Width Range 9-11"
Measure Rim Width 9.5"
Section Width 11"

okay, i really doubt the fronts are 7.5" .. and it may be possible to see the 8" rears in front and all around but the safest way to have the 275 is to have a 9.5" rim...... please anyone agree?
