Yes it will. If there isn't a difference in wheel height between the front and back, the wheels won't rotate at different rates. If the computer doesn't see that difference, it will assume slippage causing TCS/VDC to kick in.
The rim width doesn't make any difference. You could still run the stock sizes of 225/45 & 245/45 or the usual upsize of 245/40 & 275/40. The 225's on the front may be a little stretched.

Correct. VDC does not recognize wheel size. It does recognize tire circumference. We usually talk in term of tire height because circumference is too cumbersome.
