I was thinking the same thing.. But decided to just order the rays to be safe. There's a seller on ebay that does them for 120 shipped.

i agree with you totally, i need to purchase new lugs. I think the main thing is to get smaller diameter lugs so that you don't scratch the inside area of your rims.

Personally I've never heard Muteki, and so I don't mind spending the extra money on tuner lugs from a brand I trust. Plus it does add a *bling* factor.

if Muteki are anything like Kyokugen (which I think they are), I would recommend NOT getting them. I had them on my last car and they were a ***** to take off b/c many had rusted to the stud, one had been stripped by the shop when they f*&&*d up and used and air gun on them, and then the key to the set was rounded out. Ultimately, I had to have two of them broken off. I would stick with factory lugs or get the Rays

I was thinking this was one of those situations where you get, what you pay for...

Just don't use an impact wrench at any time on them, the coating will not last and will chip off from the torque of an impact. They are not of high quality but should be ok with a torque wrench.

muteki's key design is different than the kyokugen

i think muteki is 6 sided (iirc?) versus kyokugen which was 7 sided

the kyokugen was notorious for breaking keys, etc

you arent supposed to impact any aftermarket lug nut/key anyhow

i use muteki on some of my cars, cheap and disposable, do the job

now i use kics r40 cause i want to act like the baller that im not haha

I use muteki's plus another one other brand of lug lock on each wheel. I've never had any problems with them.

so muteki is a spline drive similar to gorilla
never had any problems w/ muteki's
and the ppl that i see that have problems either used a gun or just was crazy and torqued their lugs to well over 100 ft lbs.

the Muteki came w/ my Racing Hart Wheels and they work just fine, I've also had my wheel off a few times.
