Default 8.5" width

Would this be an ok width to run at all four cornors on the Z? What are the downsides if any? Would it be better to runa 7.5" up front with a 8.5 out back to make it staggerd? Please let me know. Thanks.

I think 7.5 is too thin for the Z. not meaty enough. 8.5 would be ok, you could then even get tread that lets you rotate the tires.

personally Im going with 8.5 and 9.5, still staggared and you get some real meat in the back.

what Im trying to figure out is if I can fit 8.5 and 10.5 in the back. might be too wide, but itd be sweet.

Thnk you for the reply, but would there be any downsides to going with the 8.5" setup on all four ends?

nope, some people like the asthetics of the staggered look. also wider tires have more drag and resistance on the ground, and weigh more, but they can offer more traction. front tires only grab in turning tho, so if your a straight line kinda guy, 7.5 would be a wise choice, but if you want to hit the twisties, 8.5 would be better for you.

in tread widths I assume you mean? that is not something I am good with, but a good tire store should be able to answer this question for you in a flash.

might be smart to ask even if you get the answer here, if they cant answer that easily, maybe even offer up an explanation and/or proof. you might not want them touching your tires.

A good combo on a 8.5 and 9.5" wheel would be 245 and 275 respectively. Of course there are many combinations besides this that would "work", but these would be arguably the best combination for those particular wheel widths in consideration of trying to stay close to stock diameters and all. It also gives you a broad spectrum of tire manufacturers to choose from...stray much from here and you limit your options.

You can put a 245 on a 7.5" width rim, but for 275, you need at least 9"

he was talking about 8.5 and 9.5, so the sizes should be ok. 7.5 would be something different all together.

As mentioned above...you can do just about anything...but I would not recommend stuffing a 245 tire on a 7.5" wheel! For reference, our Performance Z's come with a 225 tire on fronts over a 8" wheel. Presuming Nissan knows what they are doing...and the fact that they also put a 245 tire on the same 8" wheel (on back)....I have to conclude the 225 tire is already on the small side of things for that width since they also put the 245 tire on a 8.5" wheel on the Track. You are suggesting stuffing a tire 20mm wider on a wheel that is @ 13mm narrower? Do whatever you are comfortable with...but check with a reputable tire outlet before you do.

I read that the computer wants the tire diameter to be about .5" larger in the rear. The ABS is set up with that info to the cumputer and who know what else might be effected. That would mean you "might" have a problem if you use the same size tires on front and rear.
