Default 18" or 19" wheels

I have noticed that most of you guys put 19 inch rims on your z's. but i have heard stories that 18's are more of a performance rim and 19's are more of a show rim, what is the best size for a Z. does anyone have a pic of a blue z with rims please post it!

I love the look of 19s, but on my CL I had to run a 35 series tire for them to fit and man I can't even explain how hard of a ride that is. Living in houston I managed to crack one of the rims and I was super super careful. If I could do it again I would have gotten 18s with a bigger tire.

few things, I would imagine you read my other post on 18" rims, so thats my stand, but yeah, I was gonna get 19s, not Im looking at 18s, theres just no reason for 19s in a performance view, heavier, larger, less give in the sidewall, ect.

however should you choose 19s, or 18s for that matter. and you damage your rim in a pothole, the city is responsible for the damage to your car. contact the department of transportation. I didnt realize you could do this, but this question JUST came up on another board, and like 6 people quickly came on and said theyd be compensated for a new rim.

now if you curb it, or hurt it on your driveway, or private road, or speed bump, your likely **** out of luck.

This is the funniest **** I have heard all day. Let me explain for all the Texas people in big letters...

TEXAS STATE LAW SAYS THE STATE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR CAR THAT IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE ROAD OR ROAD CONSTRUCTION!

Now, if you live outside of Texas this may apply ;-)

If you want to talk facts (thank god someone did), why not talk law? You guys should go look up some info on "governmental immunities" and then you'll see how governments are almost never liable for almost anything.

I'm not in the slightest bit bitter. The sig pic is for laughs (I think its funny as hell) and the bit about not talking to me if you hate America is pretty matter-of-fact.

I just think its silly how some people on the internet spread falsities about law and politics that have no foundation in reality. I'd like people to know the real truth when I come across silliness like this. That's all.

That's cool, I feel the same way. The internet seems to have a tendency of spreading ******** around.

Default It is True

Some states do have insurance just for this reason. Here in NJ, The D.O.T. has road hazard insurance. A couple of years ago I was driving on a state highway and hit a chunk of rubber that came off a trucks retread. I contacting the DOT in a rage because this was on my 3 week old prelude and they mailed me a form for reimbusement for the damage. I sent them pictures that I took of the road and the tire crap that was all over and pics of the damage with an estimate for the $900 in damage. I suggest contacting your state DOT and find out their policies.....

Default anyway, back to answer your question:

I think 18" is big enough for most cars.. Look at Porsche Turbo, M3, they are using 18" and how does it look? it looks great!

Corvette are using 17" front and 18" back, it looks good and performs good.

19" is more for show, especially in Houston, where there are lots of potholes and they never fix it..

So, I would keep 18" or get 18" rims and buy the best damn tires you can get..
