Default Shaky Wheel

Whats up guys. I was wondering if you can tell me what it means when my steering wheel starts to shake at speeds around sixty and higher but only when i try to brake, mostly on the freeway. I just got an alignment done so im not to sure what it could be.

Thanks

What is the mileage of your brakes? First of all I would check whether you have any pad life left.
Did you had any hard braking episode in the recent past? Sometimes the shakines may be caused by the uneven pad deposits on the rotor. This can be dealt with by temporariry mounting-on the abrasive race pads.

Correct.

Either replace or resurface rotors.

Replacing is a better idea and is usually around the same price, unless you have brembos.

Stoptech makes some very affordable and very nice replacement rotors. I would check out their website, or contact the guys at performance nissan parts.

If your rotors are not too old or worn get them resurfaced. I'm gonna have to disagree with Wired 24/7. I do not believe it cost the same amount to resurface as it would to replace them. I use to get my front rotors resurfaced at AutoZone for 10 or 15 bucks.

Good info, a while ago when I asked at performance nissan they told me how many hours of labor it was, and their rate for labor, and it came out to only a little less than getting new rotors.

I had no idea you could get it done that cheap.
