Screeching right wheel

Question Screeching right wheel

When driving home from work a weird screeching noise starts coming from my right wheel only, and when i turn the wheel slightly to the right it screeches more and sometimes goes away . what can this be my brakes?? Sounds like metel on metal. Is this bad??? The car feels fine when driving its just the noise now. Help am i in any danger.

How many miles on your pads? And what kind of pads?

26,000 miles now on the car and there just stock, i dont know if the pads have been changed yet

I would say if your pads were replaced they may have left the shims off the pads. But being that many miles on the car just go to the dealer and get them looked at. Hard to diagnose over the web.

Could be a wheel bearing, never know.

I would,(but that's me) just keep an ear out on it. And if you want make the sure the wheel on that side is not incredibly hot. Also look out for any shuddering over in the area of the wheel. May be a sign of a sticky caliper.

But if you feel unsafe in it, or it seems to get worse just go get it looked at. The two most important parts on a car are the brakes and the tires. Having properly working brakes may just save you or someone else's life.
