Default Anyone running WS-50s in mild winters? (or Dunlop M3s)

Searched and could find almost no threads on the WS50s. Are they just not as popular as the LM22s or other winter tires for the Z?

The M3s are on sale right now at Tirerack for @$130/p for 225/55/17s. Considering all 3 right now for the winter. LM-22s are a bit more expensive but not enough that would disuade me from buying them.

From my research when I was looking for them, the WS50's have better snow traction than the LM-22's, but the LM-22's have better performance and are rated for higher speeds.

I went with the LM-22's and have been very happy. Performance is good and they're good in the snow.

Plus, I think they look a lot better thant he WS50's.

I run dunlop M3s and really like them. They handle great on the highway (sluggish when compared to summer tires of course) and are very good on the snow. the only limiting factor for them is that I don't have a VLSD which sucks at times

Do you run 55s on all 4? It looks like tirerack will sell 50/55 sets in the LM25s but in the M3s they only have 55s available for 17s

hmm, i'll have to look. My winter tires are in storage in a garage in NY until Thanksgiving and I'm in PA. I did buy them from tire rack but I don't remember exactly what I bought. You can call them and ask, they were very helpful (unlike me right now).

I think they were 55s all around though becuase the rear was wider anyway so it is still a taller tire than the fronts

I have ws50. They are incredible in the snow/sleet but they are not performance oriented at all. Just keep in mind that you don't have summer tires on and you'll be fine. I had LM22's on my old Prelude and they were really good all around tires. The WS50 is better in ice/snow...LM22 better in the dry.

Thanks lightner, thats one of the things I am thinking about right now. I know in the winter I am not going to get the same performance as I would out of say my Kumhos in the summer anyway, so I'm not sure it would make a difference to me (meaning to have a performance winter or a ws50 like tire) if I was getting that much better traction in the snow. Thanks.
