yes actually it will work

how it will work (handling wise) is a completely different matter v- if you are looking to drift, could be a great setup. If you are looking for out and out grip, this won't get you there

Use a offset calculator to compare your current wheels to the new wheels. With the new dimensions, check the car with a tape. Do you clear the suspension, brakes calipers and fenders? Reference: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

When using the offset calculator and you have spacers, do you just add the spacer size to the offset? For example, if I have a 30mm offset in front, do I add 20mm if I have a 20mm spacer in front? So, my offset then will actually be 50mm? I have an '06 with 18x8 rims and 20mm spacers in front.

No. Well kind of:

-30mm offset + 10mm spacer = -20mm offset.

245/40/17 is an extremely short tire for the Z. Maybe it will help you with drift, maybe not. I guess it all comes down to what your average speed is in drifting. If this is for low speed drift then i think it can work to your benefit, if high speed i think you might end up between gears etc....

What exact wheel are you looking for again?

Fn01RC is a good choice - 17x9 +15 all around

If you are factoring spacers in, spacers bring the wheel further out. A wheel that is a +20 offset, with a 10mm spacer, now has an effective offset of +10mm (sits 10mm further out towards the fender edge of the car). However, spacers do not affect pad height (the actual mounting surface of the wheel to the car), so make sure the wheels you get have a pad that can clear your brakes (a low offset is not a guarantee they will clear, varies from wheel to wheel)
