Default Will TPS work in Volk Wheels?

I'm planning to get a set of Volks. Does the TPS sensor screw right in or do you have to use the band method? Also, do you have to get aftermarket TPS sensors or the stock ones will fit?

I know the TPS will work for 19" Volk GTS and GT-N wheels. The difference is the way the sensors are mounted. On the stock wheels the sensors sit straight and flush up against the side of the wheel. If you ever get a flat the sensor is protected between the two sides of the wheel because it doesn't stick out past the top. With the Volk wheels, because you are running a thinner tire and the seating is not the same on the inside of the wheel, the sensors have to sit upright to fit inside the tire. This is generally not an issue after the tire is mounted but where you run into trouble is if your tire ever goes flat. Because the sensor is sitting upright and taller than the edge of the wheel, it's going to get crushed the second your tire is deflated. I have the sensors installed in my GTS wheels without any problems. My friend however is have a stem leakage issue with them in his GT-Ns.

The TPS will work on any wheel. It will just depend on the mounting method. Yes, you will need to dismount the current tires in order to get the stock TPS out.

I'm getting some used volks without the sensors, will the tps lite come on? If so, anyway to turn them off?

Yes, the light will come on and possibly an annoying beep depending on the year of your car. No, there is no way to turn it off. You have to put the stock TPS back in.

Using banding method if it doesn't work. I just did it on WORK rims and it's working great.
